The sun was up and the track was just starting to get a bit of heat in it for the second qualifying session in Oschersleben.
Although the heat was coming there was a slight dampness from the morning dew. This added to the tension throughout the paddock. You can tell that the top three teams are tense, even the mechanics, TV crews are tense.
Pekka Paivarinta and Jussi Veravainen went out on track with a hard tyre, two laps was all they managed, they were to slide off track, they returned to pit lane, and decided to sit the rest of the qualifying session out. So their time from Q1 will put them fourth on the grid for the 21 lap race.
Again it will be Ben and Tom Birchall starting from pole position, they did not improve their time from Q1, but the team are really happy with how both qualifiers have gone.
Tim Reeves and Mark Wilkes are happy, they went faster in this mornings qualifier. They set a time of 1:32.657. They will make some small adjustments before the race but are more or less just making sure their machine will be all okay for the race.
This mornings session went well for Bennie Streuer and Kevin Rousseau, they set the third fastest time of 1:33.557 for the third spot on the grid. They managed to get out on track on their own, this was so much better for the team.
Lukas Wyssen and Thomas Hofer had a good Q2, they set a time of 1:34.943, good for fifth place on the grid. The team are happy with this and hope they can have a good race.
Michael Grabmuller and Sebatien Lavorel will start from sixth place on the grid, again the team are happy with this, and hope for a good race.
Sam and Adam Christie will start from seventh on the grid. Another new track for the brothers, but they both like the layout and are looking forward to the race.
There will be a 10 minuet warm up starting at 12:50 local time. Then the 21 lap race will start at 17:25 local time. This race will decide the 2018 "FIM Sidecar World Championship"
