Have you ever said to yourself “I can do that” when you’ve been watching sidecar racing . . . and then listed the many reasons why you can’t? British Historic Racing is going to give you the opportunity to take a race outfit on to a famous circuit; experienced racers will mentor all drivers/passengers/crews and to add to the flavour of the day you will take a racebike through the scrutineering process.

All this is for free – yes FREE as BHR wants to encourage wannabe racers and current race folk are letting you use their own bikes.

I'm sad to report that we have too few interested parties to make this event viable.
With the lack of entries we are taking the decision to cancel this event.

Bemsee will still have it's annual CTC Course at Brands on 18th February, so new sidecar passengers looking to get their licences for 2017 can apply for that.
The Club will also be running its usual Friday testdays for Sidecar testing in the afternoon in front of each meeting this season.

First up will be Brands testing on Friday 10th March, entry will be available online at bemsee.net from the first week of February

A week before the event it was doubtful we’d even attend, while doing the last Friday practice of the year the rear axle snapped as we changed the wheel and torqued it up.
Straight to the engineer and it was “about 2 days and $1000”, a post on the best UK sidecar site resulted in nothing and it was only when LP racing came to the party with a spare which they sent down to us meant we were back in with a chance.
Checked for straightness and then crack tested to be on the safe side along with a bunch of measurements as it was from a latter model and it was all looking good.

Pembrey is having some adjustments made over winter, in the shape of two new chicanes. One is just before the esses and one before the kink on the back straight. By the way if you go through that kink and get nudged slightly after it's been raining, you can go a long way across the grass there before you sink about a foot into the marsh.

More news on the updates to Pembrey on their own website here

A season review from Mike Breitenbach and PAGID, Steve's Place SITE PARTNERS

A 1-2 for PAGID Racing customers in the FIM Sidecar World Championship: Pekka Päivärinta/Kirsi Kainulainen clinched the world championship title while Tim Reeves/Grégory Cluze were runners-up. In other categories, teams were also successful with PAGID Racing brake performance.

With an advantage of 18 points, Pekka Päivärinta/Kirsi Kainulainen sealed the FIM Sidecar World Championship title. Throughout the season, the Finnish pairing proved to be the most consistent team, finishing on the podium in each of the nine rounds. Their victory at the Pannonia Ring in Hugary at the end of June was a historic one: Kirsi Kainulainen became the first female rider to win a road racing world championship round. Second place in the final championship standings went to British/French pairing Reeves/Cluze.
The success for Päivärinta/Kainulainen was the seventh consecutive world championship title for a team relying on PAGID Racing.
