preinjection

  •

Apologies for the slight delay with this report - slowly drying out (not my drink problems on this occasion - but all the kit clothing and bike etc.)! Well done to the brave that experienced Cadwell’s micro-climate of: rain; snow; sleet; wind – and - more rain! With such adverse weather conditions affecting both days of racing only one race each day could be held. But the good old British spirit and lunacy kept us all going with high levels of morale.

  • 2018 has seen six weekends of top quality action from the F.S.R.A. / Lane Building Services Pre-Injection Sidecar Championship, and hopefully that precedent will continue at this weekend's concluding round, held at the annual "Sidecar Bash". With the title still to be decided, and a potential 125 points to be scored, it is mathematically possible for any one of eight teams to land the championship - although it will take a monumental effort for anyone to displace leaders John Shipley / Milo Ward, who take a fifty one point advantage to Cadwell Park.

Misfortunes at East Fortune for some saw championship leader board changes, after Simon Horton's Wintec 1100 Suzuki had an excursion to the Scottish countryside in qualifying, ending his racing weekend. This allowed John Shipley / Milo Ward (Ireson 1000 Yamaha) to head the charge against the the fifteen strong grid to earn a maximum sixty points with four wins.

Apologies for the slightly late report (holiday time!), but what a fantastic Sidecar racing event Donington Park proved to be, with sixty plus outfits at the meeting made up of in excess of twenty British F2’s, similar numbers of Pre-Injection machines and complemented with a handful of club racers.

This was another well supported event, featuring twenty Pre-Injection sidecars doing battle over four races in perfect weather conditions.

THE NEXT ROUND IS THIS WEEKEND 5/6 MAY AT MALLORY PARK

The FSRA Preinjection championship has come alive with a fantastic entry with eighteen teams at Oulton Park and twenty teams entered for Mallory resulting in their own race.

Novice John Shipley jnr with Milo Ward as a last minute stand in passenger winning both round one Oulton park races.

This year’s championship grids are made up of all abilities from novices to old and bald with an all assortments of machine types, long and short chassis of all different manufacturers with lighter 600 engines, bigger heavier 1000cc plus four stroke engines, and 350 to 750 two strokes engines.

Oulton Park suited some but which teams and set up will be more suited for round two the shorter Mallory Park track this weekend?
