RUTTER TAKES VICTORY IN OKELLS 350cc CLASSIC TT RACE
- Details
- Written by TT press office
After a delay of almost four hours due to technical issues with the communications system between Sector Marshals and Race Control, the second day's racing at the 2015 Classic TT Races presented by Bennetts finally got underway at 2pm. Conditions were reported as perfect for racing around the Mountain Course with dry roads all round the 37.73 mile circuit.
The first race of the day, the Okells 350cc Classic TT Race, was cut to three laps from four as a result of the delay which was expected to hand the advantage to the MV Agustas with their greater power as they could now run straight through rather than having to refuel.

Cruel luck denies Cooper maiden Classic TT victory

Dan Cooper was cruelly denied his first win around the Isle of Man Mountain Course when the Stroud rider was forced to retire from Monday afternoon's 350cc Classic TT whilst leading.
Riding the 350cc Molnar Manx Norton, Dan was lying in second place after the first lap around the 37.73-mile course but it was close as he was only 1.8s behind race leader Michael Rutter. On the second lap, Dan took over the lead with his gap over Rutter up to almost three seconds at Ramsey Hairpin. Rutter reduced that slightly over the final third of the lap but with a speed of 101.613mph, Dan led by 1.3s with just one lap to go.

2015 ACU/FSRA BRITISH F2 SIDECAR CHAMPIONSHIP
Welcome to the 5th round of six of this year's British F2 sidecar championship – the latest confrontation in the Founds/Peters versus Holden/Sayle battle for the title. John Holden, three times British champion partnered this year by Dan Sayle, led after each of the first three rounds, but a storming double win by Alan Founds and Tom Peters at round four in contrasting conditions – dry and sunny on the Saturday, torrential rain on the Sunday – sees them lead the title chase by 7.5 points, 158 to 150.5.

Sprint and Gold race.
With two races looming, for the "FIM 600cc World Sidecar trophy". "Team Shand Racing" set to changing their Honda 600 engine in their "Shand Chassis". Mechanic Douglas got all the relevant parts dismantled, while driver Gordon prepped the spare engine. Gordon had also recruited old friend and passenger Peter Hill to accompany the team to Germany, to help with the driving of the team truck "The Big Yellow Banana" as it is known to some. He and passenger for the weekend, Belgian Frank, sorted and cleaned all the parts.

This one was out of my control I'm afraid. The host had issues and every time they thought they'd got it fixed something else happened.
Hopefully they're sorted now!

Show 103 some views from Mike Crawford and an irreverent chat with Alan and Pete Founds about their coming season.
I count myself lucky to know all three of the men featured on this show, every time I learn something new and there are always laughs on the way.
This sport is way too expensive not to be taken very seriously indeed as all three agree.
Tim Langham and Mike Crawford
