COSTELLO AND COOKE PREPARE FOR ROUND OF ACU/FSRA BRITISH F2 SIDECAR CHAMPIONSHIP
All-female sidecar team Maria Costello MBE and Vicky Cooke head for Donington Park this weekend looking to build on their brilliant start to the 2021 race season.
Northamptonshire-based Costello and Yorkshire-based Cooke will compete on the LCR/Kawasaki F2 outfit in the ACU/FSRA British F2 Sidecar Championship at the famous Leicestershire circuit having been boosted by their outstanding effort in their opening event of the year at Oulton Park with the Wirral 100 Club.

The first outing for the newly formed duo saw lap speeds increase with each session on track as they built confidence throughout the practice day. Finishing the weekend at the Wirral 100 event at Oulton Park with a more than respectable 12th place finish in a class dominated by ‘long bikes’ was an added bonus as a debut team.
A delighted Maria said: “With every lap I could feel confidence growing and with that our lap times improved, that also continued off track as we shared valuable feedback. We actually matched my best time of 2:01, which is a hugely positive take away from our debut event.
Vicky added: “With so many positives taken from the Oulton Park outing, I’m looking forward to continuing our progress this weekend. I can’t wait to get back out on the outfit with Maria.”
Maria concluded: “It’s all about building on what we achieved at that first event and making this racing relationship as strong as possible, using this year to do exactly that as we look ahead to 2022 and the bigger picture of competing at the Isle of man TT races.
