F.S.R.A. / Wintec Pre-Injection Sidecar Championship Heads For The Sidecar Revival

Words – Dave Tibbles

Next weekend is the premier British sidecar racing event of the season, the “International Sidecar Revival”, hosted by B.M.C.R.C. at Cadwell Park on the 7th and 8th August, along with optional testing on the Friday.

Half way through the championship, the Pre-Injection class has their biggest grid of the year so far with eighteen teams entered, including with five new pairings joining in the action. Outfits in the F2 class are made up not only of a large number of four-cylinder 600 four-strokes, but also include a couple of TZ350 Yamahas, which were the mainstay of the F2 class in it’s early years.

The F1 class sees a variety of larger capacity engines housed into both short and long chassis – the only common factor seeing them all breathing through the old technology of carburettors, no laptop required to set them up!

This is the first time the Pre-Injection class has had a championship round at the Sidecar Revival, and alongside all the other classes of sidecars competing and parading; and spectators being allowed access the weekend is looking like one not to be missed.
