Marin Motorsport Supports Sidecar Teams Affected by TT Races Cancellation

We at Steve’s Place have some news in today from Boris Stroud of Marin Motorsport.
Both the sidecar races at the 2026 Isle of Man TT have been cancelled for this year due to safety concerns after a recent series of accidents – thought to have possibly been due to the design and high speed of the latest TT sidecars rather than driver error.
Boris and Marin Motorsport have a financial proposal to help out the sidecar teams who are not going to be racing now due to the suspension of the racing for this year.

“Myself and all at Marin Motorsport have heard with disappointment the cancellation of the two sidecar races this year at the Isle of Man TT.
We really feel deeply for all The Sidecar Teams, their sponsors and families who have spent immeasurable time and a lot of money to prepare for this year’s TT races for it to all end so abruptly.
With this in mind we propose to put a fund of £50,000 to be shared equally amongst all the sidecar teams and will begin work as soon as possible with the TT event organisers to arrange how this can be distributed between all the teams”.
