Oliver’s Mount 2021 Barry Sheene Classic Festival is cancelled
Oliver’s Mount 2021 Festival is cancelled

Bike Hillclimb and Michelin Steve Henshaw Gold Cup rescheduled

August Bank Holiday Weekend GB Supermoto and Car Hillclimb unaffected

Scarborough Borough Council have recently conducted detailed inspections of their entire estate, including Oliver’s Mount. Their surveyors have found several serious issues with many of the aged buildings at Oliver’s Mount that make it unsafe to hold meetings at the venue at the current time. The safety of the public, competitors, officials and staff must always come first.

Several meetings have been held with Oliver’s Mount Racing, 243 Road Racing Association, Scarborough Borough Council and the ACU to explore all possible options to run the meetings planned for 2021 in a safe manner. Despite all possible efforts, it has become obvious that the meetings cannot be run in a safe manner with the buildings in their current state, and the mutual decision was taken today to cancel The Barry Sheene Classic Meeting on 26 / 27 June and The Oliver’s Mount Festival on 31 July / 1 August.

Classics at Oliver’s Mount, entries close 21st May

From Dan

When it was announced that classic sidecars would be included at the Barry Sheene meeting at Oliver’s Mount on 26/27 June there was, apparently, a fair bit of interest shown but as of 14 May no entries have been received by the organisers.

Entries close on 21 May so if anybody wants to race at this iconic circuit they need to get their entries in without delay or there is a real risk that the sidecar class could be abandoned in favour of more solo races.

The 2021 F.S.R.A. Pre-Injection Sidecar Championship

Round 2 Mallory Park May 3rd  2021

Report —- Dave Tibbles

A wet Mallory did not dampen the spirits of the Pre-injection teams participating in the FSRA Wintec Championship bank holiday Monday meeting. With a full grid of sidecars with over two thirds of the grid being Pre-injection teams it was two wins out of two for both Rob Fisher/Sarah Stokoe F2 class and Simon Horton/Jordon Forrest in the F1 class. In the rain and windy conditions Fisher with new passenger Sarah Stokoe on his Baker 600 Yamaha not only won the Pre-injection F2 class but took the chequered flag in front of the more modern machined club racers in both races.
