Re: Proposal for CRMC 750 Sidecars for 2014

Fire pump and Coventry climax engines are different in several respects. The Imp head design was based on the Climax F 1 engine. From back in the day when two valves per pot was considered sufficient. The BRM 1.5Ltr V8 was giving over 200hp with two valve heads in 63-64. Also I have seen a newly ...

Re: Did your parents race? Either of them?

Shared my hillclimb car with my father at Shesley in 91 or 92.
Never seen him grin so much. He came back down after one run and said he nearly "gobbed it" at botton ess.
Good times.Grandmother, great uncle (bikes) and great grandfather all raced between the wars.

Re: Sitter LCR

There is now no mention of an open class for sidecars in 2012 ACU regs.
i.e. up to 1000cc only.
Unless you run to B1 B2 or B3 rules?
But yes I was poking fun at the rulemakers.
Although if you bent ones legs and sat upright it might be possible.
Saftey in a frontal impact would have to be considered ...

Re: Sitter LCR

ACU rule 19.4 states that the handlebars on an F1 ,no mention of "open."must be no more than 500mm behind front wheel spindle. and not lower than said spindle.
So if you can get a human feet forward in that space then its legall. As long as head and torso are visible from above.

Such a great loss!
I hope the TT organisers leave their place in the programme as a mark of respect.
i.e a 20 second gap between the outfits that would have been before and after them.

Re: van checks at douglas docks

In UK they must allow 5% tolerance as per manafacturing tolerances.
I presume they wish to raise money.
VOSA are now self funding and are issuing Fixed penalty fines. £120 for being 5% - 10% overwieght.
Your van should have a payload of 1200kg ish depending on engine and wheelbase.
This will not ...
