Another post made earlier got me to thinking about all of the above, the reasons for it and the effect it has had on the excitement surrounding sidecar racing.
Back when I was running Lydden Hill (& Bemsee) we used to have ...

Re: 2019-2020 Mountain Course Licence
PS. It can be at any meeting where there are 6 entries or more in your race. Not just NATIONAL meetings.
Hope that helps.

Re: 2019-2020 Mountain Course Licence
It refers to your 6 " Mountain Course Validation Signatures ".
They need to be the same as the "National upgrade requirement" which is 92.5% of your class winners time.

Thanks Tim.
I'll send an updated list next week when I have the NG dates confirmed by the venues.

V2 of my usual spreadsheet attached.
Waiting for NG dates and a missing one from CRMC - tbc early season.
Not sure if/when there might be a provisional list of Auto 66 dates (Tim?)

Re: Spring cup update
Not sure the finger need be pointed squarely at the ACU in this case.
I'm not trying to launch a political debate, nor name names, it is just that, from what I hear, the ACU are not the vilans here..
Quite right.
It was me that recommended Dave Dearden to chair the initial inquiry, because I ...

ACU CTC (Classroom Only) Test @ Darley Sunday 11th March
This is an extra course put on by Eddie to free up some space on the Friday 9th March day for some of my lads that have been inconvenienced by the snow cancellation at Cadwell Park this Sunday.
If anyone needs to resit the CTC part of the course, ring Eddie and book on. 07860 281094

Re: From Paul Riley - 40yr maximum age for Newcomers at TT
Hi Steve,
I don't have any statistics that I can rely on. I've seen some bandied about that are slanted to support either argument, depending on who is speaking.
FWIW, I think that a far fairer proposal would be to raise the bar on a First Time Mountain Course Licence to say that the 6 signatures ...

Re: From Paul Riley - 40yr maximum age for Newcomers at TT
You're pointing the finger at the wrong bloke.
Roy has nothing to do with this.
I actually made the point at the ACU the other day that there is no need for an age related date for first timers, BUT there is a need to ensure that first timers have the correct credentials in terms of experience ...

Re: From Paul Riley - 40yr maximum age for Newcomers at TT
This is new to me ( and I get to know most things before they become public ).
I have been to every single ACU Road Race Committee Meeting for the last 5 years and I can tell you that this has not been discussed. I think I know where (who) it comes from and it is a tactic of holding a gun to the ...

Dates Spreadsheet V5 now attachede for your info.
There is a " Sidecar Revival " listed on the RKBF1 dates list at Cadwell Park on 23rd & 24th June, but I'm not sure if that is correct or not as the VSCC ( Vintage Sports Car Club ) have an MSA Permit for that date at Cadwell Park.

Try getting in touch with Alf Whisker.
As far as I understood it, the KRC were applying for the Permit and I think Julia Dodd was lined up to do the administration.
If it does happen, it will be nice to see the KRC running events again as they were a very good club back in the day.

Re: RIP Gary Golder
REALLY sorry to hear that.
Gary and I had many " discussions " about the state of sidecar racing, club racing in general and the future of the sport. To say that we didn't always agree is probably an understatement, but he was truly one of the great characters of the racing world and I sometimes wish ...
