Re: Derek Bayley

My connection with Derek Bailey was inheriting his Mercedes race truck to use during the 1991 season with Andy Westhead on his Ex Jnr Rumble Windle Yamaha.
It served us well and was my accommodation as long as the partnership lasted.

Re: Franco Martinel

Sad to hear the big man has passed away he was much loved by all of the English sidecar competitors and supporters. I met Franco through my association with Dez and Team Founds and was his passenger on a number of occasions both here and in Europe. I believe he was a Taxi driver in his home city of ...

Pre TT Classic 2017 (Re Issue)

The Pre TT classic has yet again done its job to provide some of the finest racing you will see anywhere in the world, practice was held in bright conditions until a delay on Friday caused the first Sidecar race to be re worked into the race programmee at a later stage than scheduled . The first rac...

Aintree Round (1) 13/5/2017

Overnight rain left a somewhat damp track at the more than grippy Liverpool circuit which also happens to be the loop used by the TV guys when videoing the Grand National Horse race once it crosses the famous Melling Road. A rather gloomy sky was the order of the day when I got there just before 8am...

Re: Three Sisters circuit has closed, did you race there?

If it is true then it is another sad loss for many reasons. It was built on reclaimed land that used to be known as the Wigan Alps (3 slag heaps also known as the 'Sisters') It was used as a motorcycle racing venue with many local clubs running each and every weekend of the year, eg ,The Vintage clu...

Aintree Test Day 3/5/17

It was good to get back to the Aintree club circuit for the start of the 2017 racing season with their annual test day which was blessed with pure sunshine and a bit of a breeze and just enough to stop the spectators from getting too excited. We usually get a very good selection of Isle of Man TT si...

Re: Its that TTime again

They really should wear a mask when asking for ferry fees, our trip to the Isle for the Pre TT Classic and practice week in 2017 so far has come to £588 for 3 adults, I child in a short wheel base VW Campervan.

TT Attack...What's the point.

I seem to re-call in the recent past people not showing the Mountain Course on the IOM the sort of respect it deserves with similar statements to the one being promoted by Subaru and their TT Attack and the DeD allowing such nonsence to take place. In fact Mark Higgins said himself that his 2011 mom...

My son Freddie a 17y/o sidecar supporter went over to the IOM so I asked him to get his ass over to the Pre TT Paddock to cover the sidecars in the Camathias Cup for 2016,,,, The standard of machines gets better every year, not to mention a bit of sun which makes every one smile.... http://s13.photo...

Re: Colin Jacobs

My introduction to sidecar racing was on a fine example of engineering provided by Colin Jacobs, it was such a fine machine that on one occasion while racing at Aintree we completed a five laps race without the need for our engine sprocket nylock nut to be secured in place. ( it had been picked up b...

Race Day Aintree 14th May 2016

Yet another fantastic day to go racing sidecars in the North West of England, a great line up of entrants which included a good selection of TT drivers and passengers some who like to use the Aintree circuit as a bit of a shake down before loading up and setting off for the island. Also with The FSR...
