Crikey, Ben- both you and Paul Wright looking to retrieve their old outfits? My guess is that they've been flogged to the USA, where they'll remain, sadly...
But it's been REALLY smashing reading this thread again, thanks! Another happy memory now (test day @ Snetterton in the 70's)... I'm out on ...

Re: RGM
Wow! Thanks for sharing that picture, Clive- it brought the memories flooding back. The bike looks just the same as it did forty years ago, if not better!

Re: RGM
Different John at MGM, Peter. John Judge raced DBD34 Gold Star in the early 60's, and then a Triumph Daytona 500cc in the Production class, plus a nifty little 500cc Daytona racer in the normal 500 races. And finally his 725cc Metisse Bonny.

Re: Tony Foale center hub outfits
So is this to do with getting small 10" front rims working with fat 5" tyres on the front end of an outfit? Something we could NOT do successfully back in the late 60's using leading link Earles front suspension? On account that the steering head angle on the front forks made the front tyre 'tip ...

Re: RGM
Recall that circa '67 RGM ran a passenger test day at Snetterton when seeking replacement(s). Quite an interesting day out but was one of the rejects :(
Please think again, Bob. Are you sure it was that early, in 1967 ??? This will help me remember a bit more of RGM history. I'm now beginning to ...

Hiya Steve! Nah, Windsor Walk is a back alley in a part of Luton that used to have a Pub on almost every street corner. It's in a 'block' formed by Windsor St, Wellington St, Dumfries St, and Hastings St ...

Re: RGM
Another google turned up a smashing bit of YouTube footage of an RGM outfit on what looks to be a practice day at the Circuit Carole, north east of Paris, in 1993. Quite a long video clip it is, too.

Re: RGM
Found a better picture of the almost-finished outfit we took to the Brighton show. Another difference between my builds and those of Rob North is in the tubing used for the swinging arm. I used round 1 3/16" dia tubing, while Rob used square or rectangular section tube.

...The expression on the passengers face is begging for a caption though....I know  :offtopic:
Yep, with Nick Boret's bum about an inch off the tarmac rushing through a left hander at about 80 mph, my facial expression would be one of worry, rather than enjoyment, too, LOL!

Talking of the RGM fibreglass work, this evokes a very bad memory...

Re: RGM
Alan RGM was Rose Green Motors i think, i remember going down to their workshop in the late 60's with Steve and Jim Williamson, i think the deal was they want Steve and Jim to race their outfit but if i am correct Steve thought it a bit flimsy. He later built one that broke going into Quarter ...
