I remember this bike, Cowie Bsa using a full works Bsa motor supplied by Burt Perigo from the competition dept at Bsa. Mac sent it back to Bsa for some minor oil leak when my father was away on holiday and it vanished. They gave Cowies 4 std motors to compensate the situation but there was hell on ...

That's correct, never one to give up , finished and won the race with a broken steering damper !!! Sidecar wheel fell off one meeting and finished then as well much to my fathers annoyance as there wasn't a lot of chassis left but that was Mac.

It tends to be at the start of the new season, I can confirm that you chain was new for the 2014 season, so it's due to be changed.

Ok,The thinner the shim the less reliable it becomes. It may be possible to achieve the clearance you require by having the head or top of the valve stem precision machined. Remember you must get your measurements correct as once the material has been removed from the valve stem head you cannot put ...

Not good news, when you skim a cylinder head you automatically decrease the piston to valve clearance. I presume this was done to increase your compression ratio ? In order to re gain this clearance you must now machine the valve pockets in the pistons,one again this will lose you some of the comp ...
