Brake Bias for Sidecar Wheel
How can I reduce the brake force to my chair wheel? Does anyone use a brake bias or pressure reducer to prevent the sidecar from locking up prematurely? Tried to compensate at the master cylinder bias but it's not enough. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Windle Front Wheel Bearings
I'm trying to replace the 20 year old front wheel bearings on my Windle. The bearing shop told me they don't have a listing as the ID is 5/8" and the OD is 46mm. They are an English bearing (I'm in California). Can anybody shed light on this? Or more importantly, does anyone have a set of new ...

Re: Are 2 Strokes Allowed in British Airways F1?
I just found the engine regs for the B.A. series and see that only 4 strokes are allowed to run. How about local clubs?

Are 2 Strokes Allowed in British Airways F1?
Daydreaming here in California and was wondering if two strokes are allowed in competition in the U.K.? I've got the Windle tubular F1 with the Arctic Cat 2 stroke in it and was wondering if it would be allowed and if so, at what displacement? Cheers.

How do you get this bearing retainer off a Windle wheel
As the topic subject indicates, I can't figure out what is holding the bearing hub to the wheel. I prefer not to destroy the hub by using a press. I've stuck a piece of welding wire into the bolt holes and it protrudes into the Windle hub so there doesn't appear to be any kind of mechanical ...

Re: Can Anyone Date This Tubular Windle Racing in the States
Another question regarding the Windle; I have to replace a slightly bent chassis body mount. My question is what kind of tubing was used on the Windle chassis, DOM mild steel or 4130 Chro-Mo. Thanks all!

Re: Can Anyone Date This Tubular Windle Racing in the States
I have posted a couple of videos on YouTube of the Windle/Arctic Cat on a chassis dyno. There's a nice shot showing the CVT (drive and driven clutches) in action. We were making carb adjustments and were warming her up, blipping the throttle to only 5k-6k rpms, but there is a good blast to almost 8k ...

Re: Can Anyone Date This Tubular Windle Racing in the States
The Arctic Cat 800 and 900 triples had the best porting and potential for power increases. Engines are on fleabay for short money. There are also new 800 twin two strokes with fuel injection that are producing 160hp a d sell complete for about $2,500!

Re: Can Anyone Date This Tubular Windle Racing in the States
Thanks so much guys, especially the Mr. Windles for setting this straight. She's a fine ride and after all these years she's still very competitive here in the U.S.! BTW: these Arctic Cats can be made BIG with big bore kits available out to 1800cc and pushing over 400hp! While that's a bit much for ...

Re: Can Anyone Date This Tubular Windle Racing in the States
I love this little bugger and with over 200bhp and CVT, it's an absolute rocket! I was just wondering what year it might have been built...the 70 0001 serial number made me wince! She'll be ready for Laguna Seca and the WSB event July 13!

Re: Can Anyone Date This Tubular Windle Racing in the States
There's so few of us racing sidecars in the U.S...probably less than 20 on the East Coast (Canadian Series where I raced before moving to California) and in the West Coast Series where, again, there's less than 20 rigs. If we have a dozen rigs show up for a race, well, that's a BIG turnout! If Terry ...

Re: Can Anyone Date This Tubular Windle Racing in the States
Yeah..that would be the Daily Bros...they're definitely knowledgeable and had plenty of sidecar racing experience. I didn't think they would b.s. me about the builder. Any way I can contact Terry to verify?

Re: Can Anyone Date This Tubular Windle Racing in the States
Ahh...I guess that is proof enough! Any guess as to the builder? Were these just 'backyard' hacks or were they built by reputable (?) fabricators? BTW: I appreciate your responses! Thanks!

Re: Can Anyone Date This Tubular Windle Racing in the States
Hmm..I bought this rig from a pair of Manxmen brothers living in Toronto Canada and had been campaigning it until '99 when I bought it.. They told me it was a Windle. It has Windle wheels. How can you tell it's not a Windle?

Can Anyone Date This Tubular Windle Racing in the States
I'm campaigning this Windle tubular chassis in the West Coast (U.S.) Series and was wondering what vintage this chassis might be. It was originally powered by a TZ750 and was converted to a 900cc triple two stroke snowmobile engine (Suzuki-built for Arctic Cat) and CVT drive. There is what appears ...
