Has anyone done a history on sidecar racing - especially the "classic" years?

Also the first of the two Colin Seeley books "Racer..and the rest" are full of history from his era (60's) ISBN 0-9544357-1-0 .
And the George O'Dell book "Sidecar Championship" ,although mainly about George's career also has a section on the history of the World Championship , ISBN 0 600 38304 3 ...

Does anyone know of a decent book(s) on the history of the sport?

Thanks, Steve. I agree that the vintage rigs are better in "black & white". The great majority of photos from the 60's on back are black and white so it seems fitting, as an artist, to do them as they are commonly seen, in graphite pencil.

I've been doing an art series on sidecar racing for the past year of so, both vintage and current day stuff. I use a variety of media - graphite, color pencil, watercolor, etc.FWIT , here's a few examples .

Anyone know details on the September 26-27 race-weekend at Shannonville Motorsport Park, Ontario? It's listed on the SRA schedule, but no details - ie, start time, practice laps, ticket prices, on-site camping, etc.

Any help on IDing these photos? I believe the driver is Mac Hobson, and the passenger may be Kenny Birch. Looks like the same rig in both photos and possibly at the same race. My question is where and when were these photos taken. Anyone have the answers?

Any idea on who this team was? Found this great shot browsing the web, but only label on it was "sideweekend circa 1972". There's a logo that looks like a snail, and wording underneath it looks like two words - "Ro... Led.....".

It's Aalt Toersen from Holland, who came second in the 50cc World Championship in 1969 and 1970.
And the pic is of a record attempt on the Kreidler Van Veen (Dutch Kreidler Importer), location not 100% sure. Could be in Holland where they did several runs but could easily be at ...
