Keihin FCR 33mm, these will give better all round performance than the 35mm version.

Re: CRMC Honda Capacity Limit GOING GOING Almost GONE
John, you say that a TZ750 is expensive to run, how wrong you are. I have just completed a full engine rebuild for a customer, including new crankcases, and crankshafts, a pair of new cylinders with new pistons and rings, a new countershaft, 6 gearbox pinions and new clutch plates. Total price includ...

Re: Back protectors.
A simple home made one using 5mm dense foam and a belt will suffice, and be least obtrusive it will fit under your leathers without alteration. It may not offer the same protection as a very expensive custom one, but it will be comfortable to use, this is what I use at Belgium meetings where they ar...

Re: Spa Bikers Classics 2016
The # 4 Krauser was built and raced at the IOM TT by Otto Haller, it must be one of the loudest bikes ever built, like most of the bikes at Spa it was immaculate.

Re: New rules on age of sidecar frames
I am told that this proposed rule change for sidecars may not only apply to the chassis, but may well include the age of the motor. I understand that it would be to make the sidecar regulations the same as some solo classes. Is there any substance to the rumour, that the use of one-piece fairings on...

Colin Jacobs
It is with deep regret I have just been told that Colin died today at 4-10pm, he had been unwell for some time. As some of you will know, he built many fine outfits, his workmanship was second to none. He started his racing career on solos in the 1960s and switched to sidecars in the early 1970s. He...

Re: Oil Starvation
A motor will be bedded in after approximately 20-30 miles of steady running. The full synthetic oils are in effect "too good" and do not allow the very mild friction of bedding in to take place. Fully synthetic oils are perfectly o.k. to run after this is done. The filters with no anti-dra...

Re: Oil Starvation
Always use a good quality engine assembly lubricant when building a motor, " do not rely on engine oil to assemble an engine" most damage is done on initial start up. Never use cheap pattern oil filters, most of them do not have an anti drain valve incorporated ( that is why they are cheap...

Re: BMW late '70
Geoff I think Peter is asking why the engine is not fitted straight in the chassis, and is fitted slightly sideways. With the shaft drive this is the only way to get any offset on the rear wheel, without offset they are rather poor on lefthanders. I think it was Dieter Busch who came up with this so...

Re: A request from Dane Rowe, 1972 TT
Ian asks "where have all the skills gone?" I ask where have all the competitors gone? It amazes me that the promoters of the TT in recent years claim record entries in the sidecar class, when they are only getting 50-60 entries. The 1972 programme clearly shows 88 entries, and this was the...
