Unread post by petercaughlin »

Whats the current situation about racing in Europe, the likes of Chimay, Gedinne etc have things eased or are we still at the mercy of the French,I have a friend who took a Sunbeam Lotus to Spa and his van got through, but another guy I know was ripped apart at the French port

All due to the 'joys' of becoming a 'third country'.

I'm still waiting for the actual joys!

no worries anywhere.
your prime ministers have given french ministers funds to stop and search..

but if you have correct paperwork its no difference.

you need a carnet for your goods.. OR
register your racing sidecar bike car with an old v5c from a scrapped vehicle and register it in your name.
you could even use the old chassis..officer.

its pub talk all this..
we are often over there.
but our sidecar is registered and has the number plate screwed to sidecar for inspection and chassis stamped.
this saves carnet money.

dont take the chance of either no carnet or registration. you actually should of had this before brexit..
you need to prove item is yours..your not going to sell it tax free etc.

I thought that to register it ,it had to be to comply with regs for usage, obviously a racing outfit would not comply,
