cbrr verses r6 verses suzuki

thinking of changing to injected in my windle,currently thundercat
pros and cons please

I posed a similar question moving from thundercat on a shelbourne. Suzuki was an option. Have you discounted them?

Have a word with Windle (D&D) if they made the chasis - I've got a Moly so spoke to him when I was changing from Thundercat's and he said it sometimes depends what engine the chasis was original designed to take. I went for the R6 as he said he tried a suzuki in someone elses bike and the engine didn't sit in there / line up properly. The R6 sump also didn't need much work doing to it.

Whichever engine you decide to use there will always be people telling you that you should have gone for the other make!!

not discounted suzuki just want reliability and power more than anything,been told a valve change to steel is a must for racing them

Suzuki is your best bet Brian. As for the valves? you should get two seasons out of a titanium set. Its not a good idea to change to steel as there are no reliable ones around. A Honda would have steel valves as standard though . The newer R6 isnt producing anywhere near as much power in an outfit as Suzuki or Honda.

Latest D&D chassis takes almost anything
designed to change from one make to another by changing front mounts & rear engine cradle/mount
its had Honda ,Suzuki in already

Our windle had a thundercat in it and was changed to suzuki. Give one of the Daves a ring at Windle, I am sure they will help you decide what to do.

The R6 on paper is a mega thing making fantastic power in a SOLO and good torque but to be honest dont think many people are using the latest 09 onwards one in a sidecar so sump development may be up to you therefore could be expensive

Suzuki 08/09 you can get 118 hp from STANDARD with a good set up and you can fit from 2006 - 2010 and poss later have to wait and and see so gives good range of buying power and the tony baker sumps that are developed now are pretty good
Hondas are also getting there ...but i think the sump SOME are using is still possibly a reliablility issue on the late ones 09 etc
however the 05/06 hondas sumps developed by dongo ccombes nick etc seem fantastic
Kawasaki cant comment but know well see quite a few people try them next year after moly used one at the TT

As your post says cbr verses R6 does that mean you would only consider those

i know what you mean matt but i like to fully understand everything about my outfits,not just to buy one and hope it never goes wrong then you have no idea where to start.(ITS AN OCD THING MATE) i know this chassis and its good im just lacking in straightline speed.

would have gone honda as you can get cheaper hrc ecu's or even a stock USA one for £100 and they dont use the hiss system...better clutches as well......ta matt(call me if you need any imfo or help chap..pm me fo my no.)
