His performance on stage at Oschersleben was something to behold! And in the circuit bar at Chimay. Fond of exposure.

I found Tony wandering round the Festival paddock area just after lunch on the Saturday, he was a little subdued but it was almost 10 years since I last met this fastinating chap.

He told me of his dismay of having to re train to be what he was good at (Spark by Trade) and so moved on to other lines of work. he found himself in and around the open spaces of the Midlands selling ice cream............But selling ice cream has it's challenges , mainly from the kids buying the stuff who like to poke fun at chaps selling the stuff ( who should know better).

To cut a long story Tony is challenged to a dual on BMX Bikes, he looses the battle and his job as an Ice cream man after falling from a half pipe on to his head ( check out the scar the next time you see him,,,,,quite impressive for a 50 + BMX rider).

Any way he still has the bug as I do and would love to have a bash on the side ......once again...

Thanks Tony, it was good to see you after all that time........you are welcome here in the North West anytime.....
Regards,

He was indeed in the TT paddock ... I was sitting talking to a few of the lads when a sleeping bag came flying over the top of the 8 foot perimeter fence, followed at close quarters by a bearded chap sporting flowery bermuda shorts ... the unmistakable brummy accent of course confirmed the arrival of Mr Darby !! He then proceeded to drag Mick Staiano out of his tent by the ankles before disappearing into Dave Kimberley's bus
