Isle of Man Govt Announces Rebranded TT.
The Isle of Man Government today announced a new initiative to deliver a world class event that will create a platform for a truly 21st century experience. In association with global delivery partners, ENC, the island’s Corporate Delivery Department’s Head of Communications, Maximillian Bonus, released the following statement:
‘The TT has a great history and a brilliant future. Building on past success and going forward will involve massive change and modernisation. ENC have identified key areas where restructuring will deliver a sustainable, safe, inclusive and, above all, profitable event. It has become clear that some key aspects of the TT races were creating a negative impression on potential sponsors. In order to maximise the potential revenue stream it was felt necessary to remove these negative elements and, with this in mind, changes will be introduced. In particular it was felt that the central issue was, in fact, the event itself. Our partners, ENC (Emperor’s New Clothes) consulted various focus groups and discovered that the main areas of concern were motorbikes, noise, danger, bad weather, disruption and the Isle of Man’s inaccessibility. The fact that the event was held on a small island in the Irish Sea limited its accessibility to the global market. The narrow nature of motorcycle racing also limited the TT’s appeal among the affluent potential target marketing profile of the all-important ABC demographic. Whilst we understand that some of the changes may upset a small group of scruffy bikers who really should get a life, we decided that the event’s future was simply not sustainable in profitability terms without major surgery.
As a result of ENC’s exciting new development project it has been decided that we will be launching a new TT experience in June 2012. At present only a relatively small number of people attend the event (approx. 30,000). This is due to that fact that people have to travel to the island. Next year the TT will not be held on the Isle of Man and will not involve noisy motorcycles. This will remove several negative aspects of the event. The event will be rebranded as the I.T. Races and will be launched on a global virtual format which will be available to download on http://www.ITRaces.co.caymanislands . The interactive gaming experience will recreate all the thrills of the original TT Races but without the noise, danger, disruption or bad weather. And, of course, the global accessibility will dramatically increase revenue stream whilst drastically reducing the costs of running the event, thus ensuring its continued future”.

Re The Isle Of Man ' Brand'.

The TT races have been running since 1907.
A grand total of 104 years, and they have evolved into a very successfull
earner of income for the Islands economy.
How much longer will it last now the politition's are wanting to stick
their oar in.
If it aint broke, don't try an fix it.
