Mary Grinham

Anyone know her? Got info for me? She seems to be a very early female sidecar driver, and I suspect now drives cars in a competitive way.

Mary last rode a green 900 Kawasaki outfit in the late 70s/early 80s, friend of driver Ron Jones, did most Lydden meetings each season and some Brands. Last saw her mid 80s at Brands when she was competing very well in Mini-Cross.

Would Mary be the earliest known female sidecar driver? Or am I horribly insulting someone earlier?

Mary certainly is the first female driver that I remember but then I've only been around racing a couple of years ;)

Well done Helen :notworthy: Just be prepared for the odd response on the lines of 'I've never touched her Mini' 8-)

In about 69-70 maybe even 68 I sold my sitter to some one near Alexander Palace who sold it to a female from same area but she did not race it but sold it to another female,if she raced it could she have been earlier than Mary ??
