The Arctic Cat 800 and 900 triples had the best porting and potential for power increases. Engines are on fleabay for short money. There are also new 800 twin two strokes with fuel injection that are producing 160hp a d sell complete for about $2,500!

I have posted a couple of videos on YouTube of the Windle/Arctic Cat on a chassis dyno. There's a nice shot showing the CVT (drive and driven clutches) in action. We were making carb adjustments and were warming her up, blipping the throttle to only 5k-6k rpms, but there is a good blast to almost 8k rpms somewhere on the vid.
In the YouTube search type in F1 Sidecar Dyno 2 Stroke and they should pop up. The chassis color, by the way, is a fluorescent orange powdercoat. I got it that way from the Dailey Bros and initially thought is was grotesque, however, it does show off the chassis quite nicely. She's going in for a strip and fresh application and am going to stick with the same color...looks great I've been told when I straddle the frame and ride her 'topless' to Tech!

Speaking of KEW. Whilst loading my van this weekend a neighbour came over and asked if i knew KEW.

He said he was the man that hardens KEW's parts! I went inside pretty quick.

Is that about £1500 ? - for a new engine ? - you could get 3 or 4 600s for that money...

Before we all get too excited - can we run those engines in the Post Classic class ? - in the UK - or anywhere else for that matter - or failing that - can we convince enough people of the folly in using small engines with far too many moving parts for their own good ?
2 strokes are the future...
