Sidecar Licences - URGENT

Unread post by sidecar bloke »

I have been contacted by the CRMC committee .... so it must be very important... The ACU Licencing seems to have gone a bit squiffy - you MUST have "Sidecar Driver" on your licence not "Rider".

If you are the main man on the sidecar and don't have "Sidecar Driver" on your licence please contact the ACU asap so they can rectify the situation - they are aware there is a problem with some licences.

My licence has always displayed "Rider" and it has never been a problem before, so why now?

I could be wrong but isn't it so people can't jump from a national sidecar licence and go straight to a national solo licence for example? I've had to start again since I jumped on the solo. Which to be fair I think is a good idea or you could get fat old blokes like me who think they can ride a sidecar entering at a high level on solo's.

Or you could get someone half decent on a solo entering at Scarborough on a sidecar having hardly ridden it before........oh hang on that did happen ;)

For once its not a money maker for the ACU as they don't charge for the extra class's on a licence. For some reason I have all 3 on mine and I'm as likely to passenger as I'm as likely to win Mr universe.

jc. :D

But they, while their companions slept, were toiling upwards in the night.
