Re: NZ superbike championship Rd 1
Friday practice called off due to the fact it's pissing down and the tracks flooded in places

Re: NZ superbike championship Rd 1
Dry today but very windy for practice and qualifying, Pete/Kendall changed bikes after qualifying as it wasn't going quite right and that paid off for them in the race
I'd hoped to keep up with the bunch in front of us but they dropped us off about a second a lap and then we developed a problem halfway through, but tomorrow we get another crack at them

Re: NZ superbike championship Rd 1
Update:
After an incident at the NZSBK Championship Sidecar race 3 held yesterday afternoon, resulting in Barry Smith/TraceyBryan (Bike 73) coming into contact with a tyre wall.
Rider Barry is in a stable condition in the Trauma unit at Christchurch Hospital with several multiple fractures consisting of sternum, neck and back.
He is awaiting full summary to see if any procedures are required, and at this time will be in Christchurch under care for the remainder of this week.
Passenger Tracey is nursing bruising and is of course shaken, but is remaining in Christchurch with the team and Barry’s family while he is in hospital.
At this point there is no answer as to what caused the incident- both this and any events directly after the accident will be evaluated in due course in association with the track officials
Barry, his wife Karen, Tracey and all of us here would like to thank all the messages of support coming in from all over the world for Barry’s speedy recovery, and we will keep everyone updated as things develop.
Regards,
Gav,
