Been to Cadwell today.RP & Graham had 2 outfits their but no passengers, they managed to con 2 unsuspecting lads to ride with them, i have to say first time round the Mountain i thought "christ i have only meet Graham today and i dont think i will ever see him again, but it all worked out and they survived to have another run out later.
RP being the true professional came through in flying colours [ black and dayglo yellow ] with white headgear, he was suffering with a slipping clutch but everone had a very enjoyable day.
Tony Wakefield had a couple of mechanical problems but when the Magnum was running it sounded and looked great.
A few stars of the past Chris Vincent, Tommy Robb. Frank Perris,Peter Williams in the paddock, Mick Grant was going round on a MV

Was good to see the various outfits on track. The Magnum certainly seemed to struggle. Shame to see Derek Plummer have problems and go home early
If I had known RP was struggling for a passenger I would have gone and offered my services
Next year there will be a Triple race outfit there too
that is a promise (unless we suffer another mechanical catastrophe!).

Wish you had done, we didn't even realise you were there until too late on Saturday. The solo boys who stepped in on Friday were Brian Stevens who passengered myself (he evidently once passengered for Mr. Hegarty senior) and the other lad who had never stepped onto a sidecar before was Pete Ranson. Both described the BSA experience as "the most fun you can have with your clothes on".Triplebrew wrote: If I had known RP was struggling for a passenger I would have gone and offered my services
On Saturday the passengers were Ian Hart (a speedway rider mate of mine who had never been on an outfit before) and Kevin Bassam (our mechanic from our racing days who had been on before) who passengered my brother. Apart from Saturday when my battery went flat in the first session and I broke a chain in the second, I had a good couple of days. Graham didn't get so much track time due to a few problems (including him breaking a chain and failing to even start for the first session on Saturday). Tony Wakefield broke a timing belt on Friday but had a better couple of runs on Saturday.
Has anyone got any pics of this event, BTW?

The TR3OC photographer (Jim Gaisford) will have pics. If he does, like he did last year, you will get a series of proofs through the post to order pics from. Glad it all went OK. Was nice to see the bike in use.

Sorry, I am not Jim but I was very impressed, although I was amazed that it got past the scrutineers.
I expect we will have a job to get our BSA's entered for next year when the word gets round to the F1 and F2 boys!Sidecar Class. Friday 17th August
- Two 15 minute track sessions.
- Open to any British, European or American sidecar outfits.

OK - stand corrected, but I imagine that probably covers any outfit ever built (except Masato Kumano's possibly). Not complaining though, it was a bloody good couple of days. Tony Wakefield is over the moon because his son George got to ride the Magnum around a road circuit for the first time.bluemartincbx wrote:RP
If you check the regs it states British, European or American FRAMED machines, hence on Friday Hondas, MZ`s, Laverdas, TZ Yams etc etc.
