You are completely wrong. The Post Classic class is getting bigger and bigger all of the time and it is great (I race a TZ350). It has saved the club. There would not be more older bikes if the post classics were not there and club could not then afford to run the meetings. Win/win situation.

I have bought a sidecar to support the club further. I hope this recent threat will make more people realise they have to support sidecars by racing them and not bitching about a club that has always supported sidecars simply by running sidecar events.

Could everybody stop moaning and get out racing.

Why all the constant negativity and misery?

My whole argument is that the club is the CLASSIC Racing Motorcycle Club and nothing else. By diluting machines (both 2 & 3 wheels) from the classic era is a big disincentive for those with classic bikes to bring them out and race them. I disagree totally with the idea that post 1967/72 can race alongside them.

As I said in an earlier post I more than understand why AC and others formed IHRO and it is time again for either the CRMC to revert to its original concepts and ideals or for a Post-Classic club to form - only then may more pre 1973 outfits start appearing. It may also need other radical changes but that is not for me to discuss publicly.

I keep asking the question of why does VMCC constantly have full/oversubscribed sidecar grids but nobody is prepared to tackle the question on here. Personally the answer is quite obvious to me. There are many classic outfits about and most of them are being raced with VMCC - is there not a hint there somewhere?

get em to allow f350's on slicks and we along with a few others will be there.

Simon - your TZ is not a classic according to CRMC rules, no smokers post 1967 so is ineligible to run at their meetings.

However, being 25 years old it is eligible for VMCC events as they have a 25 year rule.

There was a specific ban on 350's in Forgotten Era, bottom line is that they did not race in that period. I remember guy's who wanted to put moto x engines in outfits & race in Forgotten Era class, they were knocked back because they didn't race in the period. If I am not mistaken,the ban still applies to 350's in Forgotten Era.
Just because the grid is dwindling is not a reason to open the flood gates for any outfit to race in the class, the question has got to be, how do you tempt the oufits out of the owners shed's back onto the grid????

...since you keep knocking on about this Annette.....i've got to ask.....what is your suggestion.....

.....that 350's running slicks that did not compete in the period, should be allowed to race with the CRMC......

....and your gripe is that classic frames are being built today which are gaining classic eligability.......(as they always have......i.e. SDD BSA's, Windle BMW's)....and this shouldn't be allowed....

....or if the modern classics are allowed......then TZ350's with slicks should be allowed too...

There seem to be 2 completely different issues here.....

If modern classic's are not made, then classic sidecars will not continue! Sure,there will always be a few knocking about but not enough to make a decent grid at a CRMC event like it used to be....

Whether the bikes have rusted or have gone abroad or people are just keeping them in the shed ready for when they fancy another go, or CRMC eligable outfits are racing with the VMCC or europe / TT only....there are not enough bikes for many reasons

.....so i just don't get why you seem to be knocking modern classics when they are supporting the classic club for the very same reasons that you think the 350's should be allowed in for....

...shouldn't your gripe be back in the thread it started in way back in the depths that someone will no doubt find very soon so we can go on discussing it again because it's been ages etc ? etc ?

When I mentioned my tz I was talking about my solo that I have raced with the club for 3yrs now. You are allowed 350's up to 1980 and 250's up to 1985.

Well, Simon, if that's the case with CRMC and the nothing past '67 for smokers then they have completely lost the plot IMHO. Also, if that is the case, I'm glad that I am no longer a member It's turning into another 'Run Wot U Brung' outfit.
