Agree with you there on the looks thing Trips, bruv Graham was riding an Aermacchi with what looked like a bean tin on the end and anybody from the original days would've laughed at it. Mind you they would've been confused about the amount of electronic boxes on it that were visible but I guess that's classic racing. Nobody rides them like they were really built, we have better oils, chains, ignition, and it all shows up.
At least now you have more than a 50% chance of finishing I guess.

Not sure what you mean about the bikes the Americans were riding. I know for a fact that the bike David Aldana (what a hero!) rode was tested and passed no problem (with the aid of a coke can etc.) and there is no wat the bike that Gene Romero used was too loud knowing Tim Wooley who supplied them.

Hey TP you can't imagine what a bastard job it was to remove the baffle to fit the coke can to get the noise test passed! Last year the bike ran pretty much on an open pipe and that was sheer music to the ears. How I hate the tree hugging brigade

Remind me! And we'll get it done :D

And you never know someone might have some pics of the outfits that went out which would make this all a bit more sidecar related

Sad thing is - there was also present (bearing in mind this is a sidecar related forum) probably the greatest living British sidecar legend, Chris Vincent. Just goes to show, that even on a sidecar forum, that the obvious has to give way to the solo stars.
