Bob B wrote:Ah! Forgot to mention that you would have to fit an oil seal onto the RH case otherwise you might end up with a leaking kettle :D

Spot on bob, all it needs is a machined bush, rebated to take the oil seal, you can drill the hole in the casing side oversize to allow for tolerence, fit the casing, position the bush/seal carrier on the revised shaft, tack it on and then fully weld it, job done, standard seal would be ideal, machine the bush to suit the seal.

Martin

Also seem to remember a relatively simple to obtain TR750 port timings :!: Machine one eighth of an inch (approx 3mm) from the base flange of the barrel, machine an ali plate to the same thickness to sit between the top of the barrel and cylinder head et voila - TR750 port timings :D

Frankie Prior did ours and it didn't half make a difference  ;)

Hi Bob B,

just the other way round: Machine from the top of the Barrel and put the aluminum-plate below it! Otherwise you won't get a TR but a lawn mower or something like that ;)

Cheers Dirk

another question about my Fiddaman. I need to know the correct tyre sizes for my outfit. I got it with 7.2/20-13 on front and chair, 9.0/20-13 on the rear. Seems to me they could be a little smaller all around. Rear tyre had marks from some chain contact on its side! Front wheel has quite no space to the shocks, I can't believe this is correct.

Cheers
Dirk

And don't forget to use Automatic Transmission Fluid in the gearbox instead of recommended lube. Ran ours for two seasons on ATF with no probs and did away with clutch drag :D
