There has been a photo of the Skitsu on the site recently. I passengered my old man from 1969 and often came across the Greenwood Mini charging through from its back of the grid starting possition. The open front wheel soon persuaded a passenger to ease in a bit.

Agreed, the Greenwood Mini did encourage passengers to ease in a bit when it was around, had a number of races in which Owen and Terry were running.

Despite opinions about the thing, rightly or wrongly, it was a superb piece of not only engineering but thinking too. Owen had already successfully rebuilt a Trumph lump to a horizonal motor by dry-sumping it in a effort to lower CoG. Then he looked very carefully at ACU regs for Class C lots, not to see what he could not do but specifically what the rules allowed and thus the Mini was born.
It is true about the sidecar family - you can stop racing but you can never, ever leave!
