OK , Paul is here until the end of the season , the grass track meetings are few and far between and has mentioned that if a road race outfit was available for a loan then that would be great ! Any takers ?

Well I'm feeling guilty for not posting anything else sooner , now Paul has passed away.

As mentioned in that link ,because of these posts in this forum I introduced myself to Paul at Coventry Speedway, and ended up helping him for the rest of the season. There are many tributes to him on various Grasstrack and Speedway media pages , amongst them this photo from Bathurst ,on a borrowed Windle Yamaha with passenger Zak Hogan.
We had so much fun in a short space of time, and was set to do it all again this year. Farewell my friend.

A very sad loss to the motorcycling community around the world, apart from being a master tactician at sidecar racing he was also an excellent engineer and craftsman. I worked with him on the original "winged" speedway sidecar using 10" wheels and Hoosier tyres, no one understood him and he got plenty of ridicule but undeterred he built a second "pretty one" for Kelvin and Kerry Blair.
My condolences to all the family.

A campaign has been launched to raise funds for the return of Paul's body for burial in the family plot in Warwickshire.
If the target is exceeded , remaining funds would go towards a memorial trophy / event in the future.

Contributions can be made via this link ( Fund target and contributions are Australian Dollars , 1 Pound = appx 2 Dollars )

PPRacing #234 – Bring our Dad home

Paul's children (Paul Jnr, Jackie, Amy & Sharni) would like to thank everybody who has contacted us via Facebook, phone calls and cards for their support and condolence over the past week since the tragic loss of our father Paul.

As you can imagine Dad’s passing was very unexpected for us all including Dad himself. As we all know Dad lived his life for the moment and he really wasn’t prepared for such a tragic and unfortunate incident.
Dad left behind the most important things he held close to his heart. That was his children, grandchildren, his bike and unwavering passion for racing and his dear friendships he had created globally over the past 66 years.

Whilst Australia and in particular Quinns Rocks in West Australia were home, and hold a special place in his heart, we do know that Dads wishes were to be near his mother and father who are resting in peace in the family village of Hatton, England. This is where Dad grew up and felt most at peace and at home.

Dad’s extensive career achievements are a direct link to his passion, drive and determination. Dad always spoke and acknowledged that his success would not have been possible without the continued support from people all over the world over his 51 years of racing.

We are working hard to organise memorials both in Australia and the UK together with family and friends who are assisting us. The dates and venues of the funeral and memorials will be posted on Facebook and the Go Fund Me site in the near future for all those who would like to join us in honoring and celebrating Dad's life.

As a family we are working to fly Dad back to the UK to be buried in the family plot at Hatton in Warwickshire. We have been quoted approximately A$22,626 / UK£ 10,883 to bring our Dad home and honor his wishes.

Our hope is that the target will achieved and in the event the target is exceeded excess funds would be out to good use towards a Memorial Racing event as has been suggested by some in their tributes on Dad's Facebook page.

Out of the graciousness of your heart we are asking for your help to bring our Dad home.
If you could please share this page with friends and the racing community who knew our Dad.
We thank you with all our hearts, for your support and assistance in this difficult time.
Paul Jnr, Jackie, Amy and Sharni xxx
