Leading up to Mac Hobson & Kenny Birches crash in the IOM, Mac Hobson had quite a few different passengers on the chair.
Armstrong, Russell, Burns, Collins, Birch.
I'll still go with the Jim B's pic is with Kenny Birch on the chair :)

As far as I can remember only Jack Armstrong in 74 and Mick Burns and Gordon Russell 75, 76 rode with Malcolm on the Ham Yams. The Suzuki came the year after he split with Ray Hamilton and went with switched on racing ( Eddy Johnson) in 77 which proved a dissaster.Malcolm then returned to Ray in 78 with the ex Biland thing on which he and Kenny Birch were killed. So it is probably Kenny Birch on the Windle Suzuki .

Sorry Geoff, I think Mac rode the Suzuki up till the end of 1977 with Stu Collin's on the chair. In 1978 Kenny Birch got on with him & the TT of 78?

Terry Windle should be able to tell us if that is Stu Collin's on the back of the "Switched on Suzuki"
Stu worked for Terry for so long, so Terry must have got a good close up view of his face

Thats right Jim. Kenny Graham rebuilt it after the crash and I think John Mulcahy bought it. John was killed at the top of Baggara (never could spell that properly) in 89 practice and I dont know where it went after that. When Malcolm first got the Scmid we all thought it was the dogs. When I saw it years later, it didnt look so clever. I was told at the time that they werent built on a jig and no two were the same ??

It's definitely Stu Collins on the Suzuki from 1977. I think Mac used the TZ outfit for the first half of the season (including the TT where he & Stu won) whilst he was waiting for delivery of the RG500 engine for the new chassis. As Geoff says, the Suzuki wasn't really a success in the outfit and Ray Hamilton bought Biland's Schmid with a TZ for the following season.
