Thanks for the tips Eddy.

Looking at the bumph there is a distillery just down the road (about 20 miles) from East Fortune. Perhaps we need to go and check it out! Would comparing their brew to Jamiesons start a celtic war?

Just as an aside - in Wales we have the "Red Dragon" to start the race - I am assuming at Knockhill and the Bob Mac we will have the Saltire, so why do we use the Union Flag and not the flag of St George in England? And, will you be waiting to see which flag it is anyway??

We'll be at the Bob Mac, sadly not riding due to not owning a classic, but it'll be great to see a bunch of "real bikes" as my Dad calls em!

Well Ian, If the starter dosn't tremble I will start when he drops it. I dont know why we dont use our flag, not that I mind the Union one, but it seems to me the welsh, and scots are more patriotic ! Perhaps they have an Indentity issue. I have no room to talk My Mother is from Irish/Scots stock, and my dad from Welsh so I can't claim to be English which might not be such a bad thing ! I always feel at home with the Celts. Perhaps its the wee drams, and McEwans Export they all drink.

The last True English saint and King of England was St Edmund and the flag was a blue cross on a white ground or was it the other way around ?. He is buried in Bury St.Edmund in Suffolk hence the place name. I think you will find that St.George wasn't english

Says here that he was from Lydden.....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_George

Ooops, make that Lydda,Palestine  (bit further down the M2/A2,onto the ferry, then ask)

It is likely that Saint George was born to a Christian noble family in Lydda, Palestine during the late third century between about 275 AD and 285 AD

John Macaskill will be at the Bob Mac with his Bellas BM and hopefully I will get to parade it this year. It did not happen last year due to engine trouble. I am looking forward to seeing Howards Konig which I think I am right in saying was also built by Rod Bellas. The best meeting of the season (ask Eddy) good racing and very good hospitality.
