If I could borrow an outfit I would be happy to go, if not I will still go and watch you lucky ones.

But it`s Mallory Park!! 40 laps of Mallory??! I can`t think of anything more mind numbingly boreing than wearing my sidecar out round there...for TWO days!
Mr Stewart doesn`t think a Classic club `dash` constitutes a race; they have full grids, though? It`ll be interesting to see how full the Festival`s grids are at that price.
Mind you, the Classic club`s R.O.Y. at Cadwell seems unjustifiabley more expensive than it`s other meetings??

JohnC then thinks that a "Classic Club dash" is a raceĀ ,so thats 5 laps of Mallory or Brands so am I right in thinking thats about 6-7 minutes, maybe thats all the classic boys can manage, I long to see a day when we get back to proper races,if you watch saloon car racing thats 25 plus laps of constant excitement, hard racing and tons of action,if I was`nt suffering the recession I`d be up for 40 laps of Mallory..

Gimme a 40 laps of Mallory please. It doesn't matter which track it is.....it's about who's on the track racing 8-)

It's the only race meeting that I ever miss watching a sidecar race at

It's the price it is & you don't have to race & if you're bothered about wearing a sidecar out, best keep riding it at half throttle

Thanks Dave Stewart. You've done what everyone wanted & put your money where your mouth is by organising a 2 day sidecar festival. To be offering 2 x 10 lap races per day, per class is better than some crews can deal with but it really would be their loss not to take part (imo)!

Really looking forward to a 2 day festival 8-) :D

Dave, I suspect if you gave away free entries and unlimited track time, including free tyres, fuel, beer and dancing girls, some people would still complain!! I'm sort of getting the idea (after 30 years) that racing is expensive.
Please don't be demoralised by the carpers and keep on doing what you do.

My concern was the cost of the entrys and could we fill a grid, not wanting another situation like the Barry Sheene classic at Olivers Mount in July when the sidecar class was withdrawn because of a lack of entries.

Dave has explained that we get 4 races of 10 laps which might be a bit long for some of the older classics, but is okay value.

I think we should support him in this because he deserves to make the meeting a success.

Do we know if we have any continental riders coming to race?

Don't give it a second thought, I've been organising meetings for a long time now and I know the difference between a genuine concern, as expressed by Eddy, and a moan or gripe. Genuine concerns, I try to answer as best I can, moans and gripes I look at to see if there is any justification or not (I don't disregard them out of hand, but I do ignore them if they're daft).

Foreign Entries:

I have set aside a budget for genuine Foreign Entries and they just need to fill out the entry form and send proof of insurance - there is no entry fee for them as it is being funded by Richard and myself - we really want to make this an "International Sidecar festival" for everyone to enjoy.

If you know of any good foreign teams that would like to come, just put them in touch with me -jamiestewart9@googlemail.com-

Come on Eddy, 4 times 10 laps, are you saying its a bit long for older classic bikes or older classic riders I think 10 laps is about right I`m totally fed up with 5 lap sprints, hence crossing La Manche for proper races

I actually agree with Peter, glad we've got some longer races for the classics, im fed up with 5 lap sprints.
Well done to Dave for organising it all, sure it's going to be a great weekend... come on Papa Ed find us an F2 pronto and we can get some laps in on that too!

team powerhouse is going,cant wait.
the festival is hopefully going to be big like it used to be in the nineties, free entry to stallholders.

thundersport GB are hosting this great event. which after all the complaints about cost can only advertise our fantastic sport to all.
mallory is the home of 'THE SIDECAR FESTIVAL' and so it should be.there hoping for upwards of 250 outfits which would be fantastic.

theres no club joining fee just the entry for a brilliant weekend.
as i said we cant wait to be part of it all :)
