Ed - do you still think the cracking was causing your brake-ing vibrations or have you found anything else? Clearly ours was vibrating horribly and we have no cracks and apart from those pads I have no idea what was causing it.

If you could shed some light it would be good. Glad to see you're making it out for Cadwell after the doom and gloom at Snetterton.

We're considering going out on the track with a tow rope already attached to save time!!

Thanks Ian for posting the entry list :D Makes somewhat disconcerting reading in that there are only six P1/2 outfits entered in a Classic meeting :( That is two less than the inaugural meeting at Snetterton in 1980.

Interesting point Bob but you can't ignore that grids are booming, machine preperation superb and excellent racing too :D I wonder if as the age of crews changes the outfits chosen do as well?

Dear Mike B

I don't wish to be telling you how to suck eggs - but be very careful when stripping and rebuilding Simon's motor not to inadvertently switch the HT leads - as this can cause huge amounts of angst when trying to start! Hope it all goes fairly well. See you at Cadwell.

P.S. How's Karl?

Cadwell - 9/10th

Unread post by Simon Smith »

OK, Dave and I will not be out at Cadwell.

Our machine is too sick.

We need to make new engine mounts, gearbox mounts and replace the bearings in the drive system (that are seized solid). Mount and plumb an oil cooler and test and run in the engine.

As I've only got a couple of hours next Wednesday and Thursday evening and no fabrication skills or equipment I'm admitting defeat.

If anyone wants to lend us an outfit for the weekend please get in touch.

Simon - bad luck mate. have to say the more you looked into it the further away the completion seemed to be.

Had a an email from Karl last night saying he just had a tab and was about to tuck into his tiger prawns accompanied by a glass of red wine. How kak are these private hospitals? I predictibly asked him if he had managed to find the 'head' nurse yet? :D

On a more disturbing note he sent me a photo in the style of one of those 'dodgy' contact websites (not that I know what they look like) and I swear he looks like he had a nudger going on in his boxers........

Mind you he does look like he has had his arm filleted - speedy recovery mate, but you've got until next year.

Karl is on his way home from hospital smiling away although he did say that he made a social faux pax last night when the nurse asked him if he would like fish stew must have been the drugs.

Karl,

Get well soon mate.

There is a tiny glimmer of hope that we may get out next week. Very slim chance though.

At least it's done now Karl, so onwards and upwards and get fit soon mate! I'm sure we can get you some KONG pain killers or several. ;)

Hey Bell, so you was bored witless as opposed to just being witless then. :?
It's great to know that I'm not alone. 8-)
