Can't disagree - I reckon he must have had it in top gear for the whole race..
I downloaded a video of 1990 TT a while ago - some of the shots of Sav are really good..
here's a sequence of screenshots...
You are right about comparing era's - the best are the best - whenever they were / are racing...
2 strokes are the future...

Had to laugh at this I heard somewhere... "You can't polish a Turd"
Geoff, I went down to London in 1992 to buy two Konnig engines from a guy. It was in the centre of London, the workshop was under some arches of a bridge. As we went into this dingy badly lit workshop, there against the back wall was 4 or 5 outfits.
The one that stood out was a Sabre outfit, TZ 700 or 750 engine in it. Must have been one of Dave's. A dinosaur then but what would it be worth now, piece of sidecar history, no doubt still there. Wonder how many other famous outfits are sitting in garages

I couldn't agree more Geoff. That was one of THE great TT laps. Sav told me that Nick reckoned there were places where he could still go quicker!!
So how long have I had these voices in my head, I hear you ask?
