Howards tale about Lenny Pallisters fire at the 92 Southern is correct, except he did it twice. Two motors rodded in the first two Open class practices and two fires. Lenny had arranged to buy our F2 Jacobs which we had just won the TT with. He had a bloke interested in his mint Ireson with both engines. After the first practice Lenny said hes still going to buy it with one engine and after the second blow up he said still interesred in buying the chassis with the remains of the motors. We crashed on the Thursday and Lenny bought the F2 pretty soon after the meeting, so must have sold something. Lenny also rodded an engine and set it on fire at the 88 TT . I bought the Hoeckle cranks ( 3 cylinders worth ) off Lenny after. Obviosly the extinguishers at the Southern worked.

If memory serves, I believe the photo on the front of MCN at the time was Stuart Applegate going through the fire.
