It's been quite a 48 hours... thank you to *everyone* who has been so fantastic. Our second lap on Thursday was a belter and we were loving it - David thinks it may have been about a 96mph lap but we can't get hold of the sector times, can anyone help? We simply ran out of tarmac on the exit of the Les Graham Memorial left-hander. I've been up there tonight to look at the marks on the bank and road and it really was a matter of only a few inches of tarmac which would have made all the difference.

Both of us were very well tended by marshals, fellow competitors and then the paramedics and AirMed crew, for which we're very grateful. Having raised a little bit of money for the Rob Vine fund in the past, I can safely say we're in their debt by quite a margin! David is spending another couple of days in Nobles following operations on both feet and his left hand and will be flown back to the UK early next week. I'm just walking wounded. The bike didn't make it :/

It was a great experience to sit in the Grandstand today and watch so many friends fulfil their dreams - I am very envious and will spend the next 12 months counting off the days until I can race here again :)
