Got talking to a couple of bikers at a cafe and we had missed a street race in Nelson, we stayed there for a couple of days. You live in a beautiful place, if we were younger we would have moved down there. :D
Nelson street race is just after New year and no sidecars,if you were here for February then Paeroa street race would have been on (mid North Island)

If anyone wants to come over and see some racing best time is before Dec 26th to Mid January when there's 4 meetings on

I'll poke John from California on Facebook to get in touch. He races an older Windle F2 chassis with a 1000 and has been working through lots of handling issues :-)

Definitely don't feel bad about the age of your chassis; my Windle is so old I believe it was intended to have a front exit chair originally. The current chair was built by someone here and the outfit had 10 in wheels originally. With a K6 1000 Suzuki it is not exactly a well behaved machine. I can't offer any set up advice because of that... there is nothing to set up on mine. The adjustability has all been added in by local fabricators here in the US.

oldbelly wrote:Kia for the 2000 season Terry built us an F2 chassis to take an R1 motor as well as the 600 Yams . The 1000 motor was left standard ( I bought it new and didnt even have a look inside). We planned to do the British Open class Championship on it and of course the TT with the 600 motor. It was a disaster, the worst handling bike I have ever ridden.
That was my concern that the 1000 unit will upset the chassis.. I have only ridden it up and down the street a couple of times. But I must say it felt horrible. Won't know until we get it on a track and have a proper go. My old bike feels much better on the same street though! Thats why I was a little bit worried.. But we'll give it a shot and see what happens.

Like Warwick said, Pete the pirate seemed to do OK on it with a 1000 in it (never saw him race it, before my time)

Can always put a 600 back in it! my goal really is to do the IOM one day.. the short circuit racing and street racing here in NZ is just practice/lead up to that..

Oh one more question.. does anyone have some old photos of my Windle when it was at the 95 TT? or any of it racing in the UK in the 90s when it was new?

Even better! I love the TT.. yet never visited the island.. one day soon! I watch a lot of old footage and all the current stuff though - Internet is great isn't it! And have lots of posters and pictures and maps of the course.

Haha, since I'll probably be on here a bit I may as well correct the name spelling - Kai rather than Kia ;) haha - no worries tho :D, here in NZ Kai means food in Moari so had some great school years haha! and I won't even start on my surname - can barely spell it me'self

Found some photos on the TT website, very cool. here are 2 photos I found which are possibly my outfit :) I've attached them on here..

I believe the "13+" was a change of number after an initial allocation of 32 (as in the 1995 programme), and was the only available slot to move up into after going well earlier in the week.

Ah I see - can't find one of you on it in 94.. love to have a few more photos of it :) I'm a sucker for a bit of racing history.
