That happened before she got here, 2000 hectares right beside the city and although there was another huge fire she wasn't within 500km of the place so can't be blamed

No whale sightings this time.
I tell you what is odd, a fire engine followed me from Kaikoura for 130km
Am now in Hanmer Springs at a lovely B&B with a view of the garden and mountains in the background
Have been to the hot spas today and will do some mountain walks tomorrow

Doh! You've developed a bad habit Ali..sending the same message twice

must be a bit of altitude sickness,a problem after that climb up the hill
I'm sure the climb was worth it for the lovely view

She's on her way home, spent some time yesterday driving about with her, really nice to meet her and have the opportunity to spend some time with her while she was here

Like I've never been away Daph

house looks like a bomb's hit it, I might just stuff everything back in the suitcase and put it out in the garage ready for next time

and I'll brush off my broomstick while I'm at it

Isn't it odd how we can manage to live out of a suitcase when we have to,but need a whole wardrobe of clothes & shoes when we are at home
Good idea to keep your suitcase packed Ali

I take it you aren't including men in that comment Daph. Most men can manage for weeks, or even months in some cases, with just what they are wearing already
Welcome home Ali, have you warned the local fire station that you are back?
