I remember the steering was like 2 brake discs one on top of the other with the wheel in the middle.
I remember jack getting a trophy once, not sure if it was for finishing a race or finishing practice.
What was the name of the other guy to race one at the same time?

Yes, Jack was awarded a special trophy at Lydden by Bill Chesson for actually finishing a race

Believed to be a unique feat in the history of all the various marks of Unorfordox
Cannot remember the other driver's name but there were deffo two around at one time or another

I seem to remember one of Steve's 'rigid' outfits being a bit tiring after a few laps, Jim.

Jim, he tried to be different, something against the norm, might have been a load of sh-te but he persevered. Why would anyone stick half of a Cosworth engine between 3 wheels??? & your bol-ocks!
Jack Levy dared to be different, granted it got him no where but where would sidecar racing have been without the likes of Jack Levy & dont forget, George O'Dell with the double Triumph engine or Dennis Keene with the double Konig engine. As I said earlier, the innovation has gone out of sidecar racing, so I think these guys should be given credit for daring to to be different.

Agree with you there Ian (to a point). I know as a kid I used to spend ages trying to work out exactly what everything was on the Unorfordox and even just getting the thing fired up on rollers next to the van guaranteed a crowd.
I'm not sure the innovation has completely gone out of the sport yet, but it seems if anyone comes up with a new idea it gets questioned as to the legality? That's probably a whole new thread and debate though

The last one to be quite different is bugging me, with had discussion about it on here before, Webbo's teammate who went truck racing after packing in sidecars - it's really annoying me now that I can't remember his name, had 'The Slipper' where the driver sat like in a car. Marcus S i think?
Doug Young was another interesting one - the kart type thing with no suspension.

Sorry Steve but it has, the only recent thing that has come on the scene is the LCR F2, & that is only a variation on a theme. Sidecar racing was stiffled when the F2 club or FSRA as they are now known began to influence the ACU as to what should be elligable to race. Everything then began to be geared to the TT, no long outfits, only short wheelbase, then the 600's came in & here we are now!
