Richard i think that classic s/cars new build or original bikes don't break the rules it's only odds and ends which can be easily rectified,i don't know of any classic builder that builds chassis that don't fit the rules. all of the rules that have been spoken of are concerning smaller components which can be changed easily.I would say to anybody who is not familiar with the period or classic rules it would be wise to look at club rules! and maybe speak to Ian if you are in doubt. It could save you loadsa money

All I am Saying is don't build an outfit without checking first. also I can name one outfit that is new and has not yet been proved that it run in period, so they can be built and will be built if the customer wants it.

In car racing, F1 especially, the teams approach the regulatory body all the way through development of a new car to check that what they're about to do is within the regulations - "Seeking clarification". With them it's a constant thing but I'm sure Ian wouldn't mind the odd phone call :D

If you want to ring me I will tell you, (Its not my job any more) I will not get into that on here, Ian let some bikes on the grid before he found out if they were eligible.

Steve, this is a good thing to do and i believe that Sidecar Bloke would be very happy to oblige. When i built the bike which Mike Bellaby now rides(originally for Terry Foxon) in early nineties i phoned the eligibility man of that time quite a few times he always gave me answers, but when he made his resignation speech at AGM he referred he made mention the difficulty of the job when people phone him a lot on eligibility on new builds,I was one of those peeps! I think that to save a lot of time and unnecessary effort it would be good to formulate a definitive set of rules. This would help everyone.

There`s only one way to solve this, get the offending outfit place on ducking stool at local pond, immerse totally if machine drowns then innocent/elligable,if however on returning to surface it should fire within 6 paces then it should be burnt!!!!

The old ways were the best, who needs progress, you know it makes sense.
