Bring them all on,the fantastic NRE's giving the BM's Imp's and two strokes a race, I can hear it now, after all the fastest thing on the bike is the crew.

Somewhere in my vast collection of hoarded valuables (rubbish) I have about 20 years of Motorcycle Sport magazines and in one very early edition there is a letter from an American gentleman named Charlemagne Tower, of London SW1 who is describing his fitting of an outboard engine into a 7R chassis for racing purposes,I shall refrain from finding and publishing this on the forum purely out of self interest as I do not wish teams of CRMC and IHRO hit men coming to Dorset to take me out.
I wonder if said Yank ever did race it? Happy New Year and safe racing for 2013

Simon Smith wrote:Absolutely right Wal. There are four sidecar classes in the club but only one race.

But again, looking at the bigger picture. The club can't give the sidecars an extra race because pretty much every race over each day is split class and everybody wants their own race. There are very big arguments going on throughout the classes.

My personal view is that there are too many classes and too many races on each day. There is also an issue with the already short races laps being cut when there is an incident.
So what are we doing wrong Simon ? in Europe at meetings such as Chimay and Gedinne, there are regularly in excess of 300 solos and 70 -80 sidecars, which I believe to be more than the average UK Classic Club meeting, but we all have good races (7 - 12 laps) and that doesn't include the Parades they manage to fit in = everybody happy. :D
I know there is a one hour time difference, but they only have the same number of hours in a day as we have in the uk  So what are we doing wrong ???
I don’t regret the things I did wrong, I do regret the things I did right. . .for the wrong people !

but who knows what a saab looks like from ten paces, Saab did put two engines in one of there cars and ran it on some salt flats some where in the U.S.A, does this make it ok to run it in my outfit. I know it will not look the same but that seems to not bother some people and if I pair the chambers on the cylinders it will look ok from the rear, plus it makes 10000 bhp so they will only kick up a fuss if I win , all the best

Each to his own......Belgian or CRMC meetings arent we lucky to have a choice.

you at the foreign meetings. :notworthy:

I was thinking of getting a classic but after 11 pages on this subject I dont think I am going to bother.. can't do with all the arguments. I get enough of them at work without having them in my hobby aswell. Lets just enjoy our sport as it is still the best in the world but could be ruined by a bit of bickering.

Chick Don't let this post put you off it's just a healthy discussion to keep the mind active in these dark winter day's.

The CRMC is a great club to be in, and race with.

There are also lots of other Classic races in Scotland, Isle of Man, Belgium, Germany, France, etc. The Craic is first class too :D
