Generally enjoyment, but when I started out I needed signatures to get off my novice vest, then signatures to get to National, then signatures for the MCL... so if I have the choice between a club with (a) free entries and 2 shots at a sig per day, or (b) full price entries and one sig opportunity per day, there's no choice really It's a shame that it's mainly the northern clubs alone who run 3-race days - best value for money there is, but I can see that fast disappearing if the grids keep depleting year on year.

The free entries for club racers at Bemsee has meant bumper grids all year - to the extent that it was possible some outfits would not qualify (although I don't think that actually happened). Whilst this has been brilliant for Bemsee, it has been to the detriment of other clubs, I have no doubt. However, you also have to consider how other clubs structure their days: with North Glos you only get one attempt at a signature during the day, since the first race is a 'qualifier'. To my mind that's less attractive than an organiser offering two bites of the cherry.

Hi Anne - I find it quite interesting that this club could provide free entries all year (was that how it worked ?) - makes you wonder how it was possible - did they have a big sponsorship deal to cover the costs ? - and will they be doing it again - if so - we should ask for the F350 class series to be run with them...
