Uhh, define "success"?

I used a Honda VF750 Interceptor to qualify for my amature race license.
Raced a Yamaha RZ350 for 2 seasons.
Somewhere in there I did 3 race schools on a Yamaha FZ600.
During the 2nd season I started passengering on what would now be considered a classic outfit with a Honda CB750 four (which at the time was just considered an older rig still contesting the open class). Later that season I got one ride, as a passenger, on a TZ750 Windle which was enough to convince me I'm too uncoordinated to passenger.
For the last race of the season I purchased and drove a TZ750 Schmid (along with my RZ).
Then I did 3.5 more seasons on the TZ750 Schmid (the RZ was retired to the street to replace the VF750 which was sold on with 275,000+ km on the odometer).
Took 18 years off.
Then did 2.5 seasons on a Honda CBR1000RR F1.
Next year I'll be driving an R6 powered 2010 MRE F2.

surprised to see how many have raced proper race bikes, my first race bike in 1986 was a TZ350G then a FZ 750, RS 125, EMC 250, RGV 250, TZ 250W, CBR 600, RS 250, GSXR 750. The rs was the best solo i ever raced but nothing beats being a passenger.

Quite a lot, so how many had success on 2 and 3 wheels, i expect the list to be a lot shorter
I am surprised that nobody has mentioned Craig Hallam
Of all the people I have raced against (a long list including Carl Fogarty, Jamie Whitham, John Reynolds, etc, etc) Craig is by far the most naturally gifted.

Ian Bell was also excellent on 2 wheels until his nasty crash at Snetterton.

I raced an NC30 (badly) at Jurby in 2006. Best result was not-last, then 27th in the Endurance (out of 40).

I should be in some of the progamms Tim keeps posting from the late 70's early 80's, Count of Carnaby, Elvington, Shell Oils, Avon Roadrunner championships etc on RD350 and later TZ350.
I can remember at least 2 heats and a final per event so plenty of entries then.
the meaning of life...... the hokey cokey.... thats what its all about.

I started racing on solo's in 1968 i.e. manx norton,-B.S.A./norton-250Ducati mach 1-250 Greeves-250 Yamaha- 125 honda-then i prgressed to proper racing bikes,ie sidecars, roundabout mid 1971, as passenger doing most short circuits and the roads ie, scarborough-southern 100-Gedine- and of course the T.T. on 500/650 Fiddaman Triumph- 850 Jacobs Norton- 900 Russells/Jacobs Kawasaki -900 Honda- 750 TZ Yamaha mostly with Bill Hall, had the odd outing with Brian Mee-Colin Jacobs-Dick Tapken- John Philips-Bill Cooper-Dennis Bingham-etc finally finishing off with Ian Macdonald from 1984 then had to retire after a Baddun in the 1985 T.T. on the cronk-ny voddy straight. Had a bloody good time though!! and STILL AM! ;)

I think we forgot to mention Bill Philp, 400 bemsee champ and world sidecar competitor, the man is fast no matter what he is on.

Wayne Stevens quick 400 rider at bemsee, then fell for the love of sidecar racing thanks to tony fitz who also raced bikes in the 70's and sidecars in the late 90's, he also started off coxy. Wayne was bemsee f1 champ as passenger and a word championship competitor as passenger. Aslo picked up a few club trophies as driver intill he lent me the bike oppppps....

Thanks john h i got beat by a girl you will never let that go lol
