The clue is in illi's post Richard:
"It`s the Forgotten era that have the problem -with treaded tyres. The CRMC are adamant they don`t want them." i.e CRMC rules do not allow slicks as they are totally out of period.

Just another thought and I may be wrong here but I was under the impression that the CRMC do not allow rear exit outfits?

Let's go back back a bit - early 80s. CRMC chair, grids were oversubscribed with occasional reserves.

Today, can't even scrape up enough entries for a netball match.
Why??? What has changed in the interim??
Cost? Always was high compared to other clubs. Eligibility issues? Club management? Other factors?
Answer the Why and What questions above and there may be found more than a clue. Elementary my dear Holmes

Whatever you think I`m sure the basic reason is cost, too much money for too little racing time, the clubs will justify this by blaming circuit owners, well try smaller circuits, even cross the pond and hire Croix en Ternois,Bemsee do,and so do some English car clubs, its only 60 miles up from Calais,
Better to be thought a fool than to open ones mouth and remove all doubts about it.

I think everyone knows why Bludge and myself have not raced this season with the Classic Club after the second round at Lydden...
For those who do not know ...
I was basically down to common sense and a club that we feel did not look after the racers that had been loyal to their club previously.
North Glos and Bemsee could not have been any more helpful and friendly... Both these clubs and officials bent over backwards to allow us to race with them......

350's as a class of their own racing with the classic club is one thing...
... but to then allow 350's in the pre~tt classic races
...why not invite a few of the 600 teams camped over in Douglas aswell....
