I'm 19 now I got all my own gear myself saved up for it did my own ACU forms traveled on my own to Uk to race iv never had anyone throw money at me and like alot of racers I certainly don't have alot of it, but some great drivers like AL for example took me out and never wanted anything to race with them if it wasn't for guys like him I don't know where I'd be.

from a passengers point of view , its fairly easy to get the six signitures required ,many a weekend there is a driver needing a monkey on here (and usually for free ) , it comes down to how much you want it in life , no disrespect bruce or realroadracer but your good enough to get rides every weekend if you WANTED ( even if its just to help a driver get his signitures) and get all the signitures you need , maybe your just getting to old  , you have known about the centenary for longer than i have  , surley even you could have come up with a plan to get there ???
i do like the six sig rule ,but also agree steve e that the organisers should look through all the ins and outs and just tick the yes passenger box !!!
like i have previously posted last years TT was a nightmare , they would not let me race, not because of lack of what ever ,but insurance b*****x , and thats how the world is now adays , so the rules state, do your six meets at darley/elvington/ect and get on the boat to the TT 8-)

simples
:-) winnie

You're right Jamie. If I wanted it enough I'd do it. And I'd keep on putting up with all the carp that goes with it but eventually I say enough is enough. To some extent I feel they play on the fact that we want it so badly that we'll willing do anything. However, it doesn't matter how much you want it, if the money just isn't there you can't. Over many years you sacrifice plenty.
Having just set up a new business after redundancy, things will be tight this year but, hey, you never know, I may be back in 2012.
We've done more TT's than most; our commitment to the TT shouldn't be questioned.
Personally speaking, as a passenger, I wouldn't want to jump on with somebody I didn't know really well. The TT is a big ask in terms of commitment and everything needs to be right. Some are prepared to take what I see as a risk and team up with a driver they don't know too well; I wouldn't. Also, as a mere holiday racer (aren't we all?) the experience needs to be an enjoyable one. Two weeks spent with somebody you find you don't get on with would be a nightmare.
The TT remains , to me, a great event, a challenge and a thrill. Long may it continue; I hope it does.
So how long have I had these voices in my head, I hear you ask?

I blame media such as the Internet for the downfall of all exciting forms of motor cycle sport,,,,making it instantly accessable and tame looking.

Take a look around at the next meeting you attend and make a note of the number of 18-25 year olds watching the action....it is sad but true as to why you tend to see the same old faces doing the racing, and the same old faces stood watching and the same old faces doing the marshalling,,, (Aintree and Darley marshals are prime examples who also take time out to cover the TT and MGP )

I have never been able to understand why the lads and lasses who do the entertaining have to pay more to entertaning the people who come to watch them..

Regards,

Fritz,,,,,,
