Still mopping the tears from my eyes, how did you find that?
Phil, if Mr Phillips or Roy see that, they wont be on your show.
Who made that????

I cannot believe that this has given 5 pages of dicussion & not one peep from Kew.
As for "The Lap Record" of course Tim can beat it on a tuned engine with the right weather.........THE TRACK IS NOT THE SAME NOW AS WHEN THE RECORD WAS SET.
Every year bits are changed here & there so really lap records are irrelevent. What really matters is that the race is won & that all competitors finish safe. Sometimes safe is not there to help but thats racing.

I'm staying out of it 'cos it doesn't affect me any more and besides there is more than
enough misinformation being thrown about by ianw to satisfy everyone.

I spoke to Mr Hanks and he is kindly letting me interview him next week so with any luck we should have ACU and Manx Government views represented.
Does anyone have any questions they would like me to ask, or would any rider/passenger like to come on the show? Please PM me here or email

Tune in to bikerfm.co.uk 21.00 on Wednesday, its going to be controversial

To be honest I think you've all gone mad the only thing that is goin to destroy sidecar racing is cheats and bitching behind keyboards what ever happend to ok that's the regs lets race ?? Why do we have to argue about it who's fault it is we're goin tuned engines and as for Paul Phillips bein a politician?? He's a motorcycle enthusiast who cares as much about the TT and sidecars at the TT as we do... Just my opinion but if everyone stuck to the regs we had they would never have been changed I lost out massively to a few at TT this year as did everyone but nothing is goin to change this years result and now am more focused than ever on next years result... No insult intended to anyone

Have read 200-300 comments on facebook plus all the various posts on here. Well done, Karl Bennett, for the most straight-forward, common-sense summary by far. The vast majority of comments are criticising the ACU/Paul Philips/FSRA/Isle of Man Government, take your pick. It's the cheating that's caused the problem, and there seems to be an aversion to acknowledging that such a thing exists in sidecar racing. A bit like there used to be in cycling..................

Well said Karl and John. I have tried not to criticise too much, I know how much work goes into it all and how it can look like bitching and whinging and seem detrimental to the sport. All I can say is I try to not let people go on too much.
This situation is a bit different as it's costing a lot of people a lot of money or seems like it will. I'm not sure it really will. In the real world if you have standard motors and can't afford to get them tuned you'll just run what you've got and beat your time last year. If you're a newcomer then a tuned motor is pretty low on the list of important stuff.
The alleged cheating should be stopped. It's simple. If everyone knew they wouldn't get away with it they wouldn't even bother trying and everyone could get on with racing. It seems people have realised that it was being ignored.
