[£1000 on data logger and £1000 for sensors etc !!!!!!!And they are the CHEAP ones !
never spent anywhere near that for flat slides in my life !!!!,back in 1995 we ran a ZZR600 with standard ignition and standard carbs, with dynojet kit, homemade pipe,7" rear tyres with standard Hagon shocks, that bike lapped at nearly 102 at the TT in 95 ,so in my mind cant justify the exspence, all im trying to say there must be a cheaper option, has anyone got any ideas ????quote="steve-e"]The DTA then isn't much different to a set of flat slides, like Andy said then. Fair do.[/quote]

You should have bought one at the Cheshire show yesterday £4.80 for 2 rashers the bread was quite stale it took a long time to eat so it seemed like good value
Bruce its about time you gave up on this one people will spend what they want on the racing game I bought a top of the range bike in 1998 with spares I think it was very similar to Richard Nelsons bike it cost £8500 a set of flatslides were £600 a set of spare bellmouths were £180 so they were around 10% of the bikes value nothings changed then £3000 for an ECU is cool
What bugs me is there are quite alot of good drivers out there who dont want to spend that on top of the range kit and are unable to complete on level terms if a standard engine class were introduced the slope would be greatly reduced especially in these hard times
Thats why I mentioned formula Jedi spec

Excuse my ignorance, but how easy would it be to split the F2 class in a similar way to what BSB did 2 years ago when they brought in the Evo class?
That way people who wish to spend money on tuned or newer engines, top of the range electrics, new chasis's etc can continue to do so and there will also be a class to accomodate the others on a more affordable basis.
More educated people than me can make the rules, but tuned engines, engines newer than 3 years (tuned or otherwise), Motec or similar can be in the 'open' class and anything else can fall under the Evo class.

It's no different now to as it was years ago...Those that have & those that don't.
If you are a don't & can't then take up Sidecar Trials with a BSA....
By the way A "KIT" ignition on one of these is £180... & a clutch to last the distance £600...
Times have moved on Bruce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

your absolutely right, nothing will change, which is a shame, seems now to be in a similar situation as when i first started sidecars, some of the AGM's got very heated when new rules came in reguarding F2,especially when high powered 600's came in ,remember all the who-ha about restricted inlets etc,i think (personally)we are getting close to a major change, with decreasing grids and inflated prices we are going no where.
i would love to race again, but theres no door to walk through, all the hurdles are to high

The F2 has already been split with clubman F600's and TT F2 regs being different. We could have another class for pre injection (oh DP have tried that), maybe one for orange bikes and one for ones that have proper oil containment

In 2004 I bought a new set of flatslides for my new Ireson - £750. Wiring loom cost £250.
2007 put 600rr in -Kit ecu £239, Data lead £285 & kit loom £240.
At the TT we're going quicker & using less fuel.

dont look at the speed trap look at the sector times to previous years and make your own mind up who had a standard engine

Top speed isnt everything at the TT. Look at Moly. Rider ability and circuit knowledge go a long way. The standardish rules are playing into his Daves hands.
