Our John and Our Derek both raced Solos albeit John more seriously.....
My old man had a go on John's TZ350 but flattened all the pipes at the bottom of the mountain at Cadwell!!

Bill Philp also raced 4 wheels for 1 season aswell driving in the National Mini Championships

I think most of us chair drivers and passengers here in the "States" started out on Solos.....1953 on 125c.c. Ducati for me....500c.c BMW in the late 1950' and early 1960's....first sidecar in 1962.....in fact the first real road racing outfit in N.America .....no other outfits except dirt track and Moto-X....we ran exhibition at road race events.......around the 1970's is when road racings sidecars took off here in N. America.......Now at age 78 I just build them........Oh, for past glory

Started racing on solo's for a few years ie, 500 Gold star, 250 Mach 1 Ducati ,Triton, 'then graduated to passengering Bill Hall, Alan Steele and a few more before retiring, great times !

Me to, started in 1975 as a passenger on a 650 Triumph later enlarged to a 750, then an A65 (my avatar) rumoured to be an ex Bell outfit, guested on Mike Salmons Imp a couple of times. Changed to solos in 1978 running a proddy Honda 400 and a 250 Ducati, than changed to a Harris TZ350. High point was doing the Manx in 1979 and finishing it!

Also just noticed someone everyone forgot to mention, Benga Johansson was a very handy 125 rider till Jock was stuck for a passenger at Snetterton i belive.
