Got talking to two blokes at the classic dinner who now race solos but used to race sidecars.
I cant remember their names for the life of me but pretty sure they were called Team Top Banana when they raced slideys.
The passenger said he had once jumped on with Greg Lambert at Knockhill because Gregs passenger had got injured or something??

Anyone know who im on about???

Glynn someone was one of them and I thought it was Steve Walls (Gremlin Racing - rides a bloody great Harris framed jap thing) but may be wrong. Recall they had a dabble with an Imp but had various problems and I think the bike would not have been CRMC eligible

Yes!! Steve was the passenger!
I dont know i was equally as drunk as they were but my ears pricked up when they mentioned sidecars and they'd raced with Ed just before he decided to have a break in 99.

Forgotten era or similar didn't they do? I've seen their website a while back but the link to it on the classic CRMC site is now coming up dead.

A guy in Gloucester had an imp outfit for sale on ebay a couple of years ago that was Bannana racing i think.

Im convinced he races classic solos now, he got an award I think at the classic do.
I dont even know how we ended up talking to him

Steve probably got an award for Post Classic something or other as he is still racing his Harris thingy (he threw it at me when I was marshalling at Pembrey last year bloody heavy thing too )

the guys name is glynn williams used to race with him on an earlystocks bike

he is a very good mate of geoff smales
